It’s about becoming a man whose strength has been surrendered to Jesus—strong enough to protect, humble enough to repent, courageous enough to stand, and grounded enough to stay faithful when nobody is watching.

The Why Behind the Book

I wrote this book because I believe men are being pulled in two very different directions.

On one side, we’re told that strength, masculinity, conviction, and courage are things to be suspicious of. On the other, we’re offered a version of manhood built around dominance, performance, anger, and proving ourselves.

I don’t believe either one is the answer.

I believe God created men with strength for a reason, but that strength was always meant to be surrendered to Him. We were made to have the capacity to be dangerous, but to use that strength in service of what is good. To protect rather than dominate. To lead rather than control. To confront what destroys while becoming a place of safety for the people God has entrusted to us.

As a husband, dad, Christian, police officer, and someone who has spent years walking alongside men, I’ve also learned that most of this doesn’t happen in the dramatic moments. It happens at home. It happens in our marriages, with our kids, in our private decisions, in the conversations nobody else hears, and in whether we keep showing up when life gets hard.

That’s why I wrote Live a Dangerously Good Life.

Not to give men another standard they can fail to live up to, but to point us back to Jesus and the kind of men His grace is forming us to become.

What It Means to Be Dangerously Good

Being dangerously good means possessing strength without being controlled by it. It means having courage without becoming arrogant, conviction without becoming cruel, and humility without becoming passive.

It means being dangerous to evil, lies, compromise, passivity, fear, division, and anything else that threatens what God has entrusted to you.

And it means being good to your wife, your children, your brothers, your church, your community, and the people God puts in your path.

Most importantly, it means understanding that you cannot become this man through sheer willpower. This isn't another self-improvement project. The dangerously good life begins and ends with Jesus.

Inside the Book

Throughout Live a Dangerously Good Life, we’ll walk through what it looks like to become a man who is formed before he is sent, who understands that strength is not the enemy, who develops the discipline to remain ready, who becomes dangerous to evil and good to what matters, who takes seriously the quiet front lines of marriage and fatherhood, and who develops the courage to remain faithful in the ordinary moments of life.

Each chapter is meant to do more than give you something to think about. My hope is that it causes you to look honestly at your own life, recognize where God may be calling you deeper, and take another step toward becoming the man He has called you to be.

Who This Book Is For

This book is for the man who knows he was made for more than simply getting through the week. It’s for the husband who wants to love his wife better, the father who wants his children to know what mattered most to him, the man who feels like he has drifted and wants to come back, and the man carrying responsibility who is tired of pretending he has everything figured out.

It’s also for the man who has failed.

Especially him.

Because this isn't a book about perfect men. It's about what Jesus can do with men who are willing to surrender their strength, receive His grace, take responsibility, repent when they get it wrong, and keep showing up.

A Life Worth Living

My hope is that when you finish this book, you don't simply feel motivated.

I hope you look at your wife differently. I hope you slow down with your kids. I hope you pay closer attention to your soul. I hope you confront the things you've been avoiding, take responsibility for the ground God has given you, and stop wasting energy trying to prove yourself.

And more than anything, I hope you walk closer with Jesus.

Because the goal isn't to become a more impressive man.

It's to become a faithful one.

Dangerous to what destroys.
Good to what matters.
Surrendered to Jesus.

That’s what it means to Live a Dangerously Good Life.

***Ship time around 2 weeks***
